Hvem ulykkesforsikringen gjelder for

Forsikringen gjelder for den (enkeltforsikring) eller de (familieforsikring) som er nevnt i forsikringsbeviset og som er medlem av Folketrygden og har fast adresse i Norge. Vanligvis kreves det at medforsikrede (ektefelle, samboer, barn, mm) har felles adresse med hovedforsikrede i Folkeregistret. Familieulykkesforsikring blir billigere enn en egen forsikring for hvert familiemedlem.

Viktige unntak

Det er viktig å sette seg inn i de unntak som gjelder i forsikringsdekningen. Spesielt gjøres det oppmerksom på at forsikringen kan ha unntak for skader etter ulykker i forbindelse med spesielt risikobetonte aktiviteter, som for eksempel fallskjermhopping og andre luftsportaktiviteter, fjellklatring, sportsdykking, med mer.

Ulykkesforsikring i arbeidsforhold

Mange er dekket av ulykkesforsikring gjennom arbeidsstedet. Før man kjøper egen forsikring bør man sjekke om denne også gjelder fritidsreiser og om den inkluderer familiemedlemmene.

Ekstra ulykkesforsikring på reise

Ulykkeserstatningen under reiseforsikringen er liten i forhold til behovet ved større ulykkeshendelser. Det kan derfor være lurt å sikre seg med en ekstra ulykkesforsikring når man er på reise. Dette kan være spesielt viktig dersom du leier bil eller mc fordi erstatningsnivået for personskader i motorvognforsikring i mange land er lavere enn i Norge.
